You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone
An unplanned pregnancy can bring fear, relief, grief, hope, or all of them in the same afternoon. Whatever you're feeling, it makes sense. Whether you live near the bayfront, in Millcreek or Harborcreek, or out toward Corry or Edinboro, you deserve honest information and someone who will listen without judging you.
Reaching out to us doesn't commit you to adoption. Many people simply want to understand how adoption works before they decide anything. If you end up choosing to parent, we will respect that decision completely.
How We Support Erie-Area Families
A specialist who is on your side
Your Adoption Specialist gets to know you first: your circumstances, your worries, and what you would want for your child. We can meet with you in person in the Erie area, by video, or by phone, whichever feels most comfortable to you.
Help during your pregnancy
We can help you keep up with prenatal care, connect you with resources, and plan ahead for delivery. We have supported births at both UPMC Hamot and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital. Our help isn't limited to the hospital, either: we offer birth planning and options counseling during your pregnancy, wherever you plan to deliver.
Choosing a family that fits you
You decide what matters most in an adoptive family. You might care about faith, a family's location, whether they have pets or siblings, or how much contact they're open to. If you would rather we suggest families for you, that's okay too.
The hospital stay, your way
If you'd like, a specialist can be with you at your Erie hospital, and we can arrange a doula for your delivery. You decide who's in the room. Paperwork is signed only when you're ready.
Care that continues after you go home
Our support doesn't end when you leave the hospital. We will keep checking in for as long as it helps you. Read how birth moms are supported after placement.

Questions Erie Parents Ask Us
Do I need to travel to work with you if I live in Erie?
No. We work with expectant parents across Pennsylvania, including Erie County, and we can meet you in person in the Erie area. If it's easier, we can also talk by phone, text, or video.
Can I deliver at an Erie hospital and still choose adoption?
Yes. You can give birth at the hospital you and your doctor choose, including UPMC Hamot or AHN Saint Vincent, and we will help you create a birth plan that reflects your wishes.
Will choosing adoption cost me anything?
No. Our services for expectant parents are free. Under Pennsylvania law, adoptive families can't pay your general living expenses such as rent or groceries, but they can cover legal and medical costs. We can also help you apply for Medicaid if you qualify. If you decide to parent, you never have to repay anything.
How much contact can I have with my child afterward?
That's up to you and the family you choose. Letters, photos, texts, calls, and visits can all be part of a Post Adoption Contact Agreement, and in Pennsylvania that agreement can be filed with the court so it is legally enforceable.
What if the baby's father is involved or isn't in the picture?
We will try to include him and help him understand adoption when that's possible. When the situation is complicated or he is unknown, an attorney helps make sure everyone's rights are handled properly, including yours.
Do I need my own lawyer?
It's not required, but we encourage it. The agency pays for your legal counsel, and your attorney should be separate from the adoptive family's attorney.
Is this the same as foster care?
No. With adoption, you make the plan: you choose the family and decide what contact looks like. With foster care, the child welfare system makes those decisions.
Ready When You Are, and Not Before
You can ask a single question today and stop there, or start planning. Either is fine.
